a.imagelink {color:#0000FF;} a:hover.imagelink {color:#0000FF;} a:visited.imagelink {color:#800080;} a.imagelink img.auctionimage { border: 2px solid #0000FF; } a:visited.imagelink img.auctionimage { border: 2px solid #800080; } The embroidery pattern in this auction is from a rather large estate that we acquired back in the spring of 2007, we have been selling stuff for over a year and have barely made a dent in the stuff. The previous owner was an avid stitcher and crafter. She sewed for herself as well as her 4 daughters and did all kinds of needlework. I found a long shallow box that is filled to the top with needlework patterns, the ones on top are newer but near the bottom I started to find a lot of wonderful hand made patterns for embroidery and applique. Some of the items are marked "drawn by Aunt Mattie" and Aunt Mattie was a very good artist. There are pictures that look like they were cut from sewing magazines, attached to a full size pattern that is drawn in detail on any paper that she might have handy. One was drawn in pencil on the back of thin paper bags, like the kind that use to cover your clothing when it came back from the cleaners. Anyway all Aunt Matties patterns are wonderful. There are other patterns in the box, a couple of baby quilts, and a few quilt pc. patterns as well as a lot of other stuff. Now back to the patterns in this auction that we found in that box. The patterns in this auction are all applique, and they all look like quilt block patterns. 2 of these patterns are hand drawn in full size. The large basket of tulips was drawn on wraping paper, the size is 16"s square. It has a wonderful basket with lots of tulips and leaves in a nice arrangment, this would make a lovely and unusual quilt. The next pattern is also a hand drawn one and it also features a floral motif. I don't know what kind of flower it is suppose to be but it is very pretty. The block measures 13"s by 7 1/2"s. Attached to the drawing are pattern pieces that have been cut from a newspaper. I think this would also be lovely appliqued on a pillow cover. The last 2 block patterns are for Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam, these patterns are not as old as the hand drawn ones. These came from a Quilters Newsletter. There is pattern pcs and instructions for both the Sue and The Sam appliques. The figures measure about 10"s when essembled. Last year I sold 30 completed blocks that were from the same estate, I am almost positive they were made from this pattern. .....I guess that's about all I can tell you about these patterns, if you think of something that I missed just let me know. Shipping on these patterns will be free inside the USA. If you have questions please don't hesitate to ask, we try to answer promptly and to the best of our ability. Thanks for visiting this site and please take a few moments to check out our other auctions as well as the items in our eBay store, we usually have a nice assortment of real neat stuff! Time to say by for now and may God bless us all!
