Because the adhesive is clear, the surface of the piece may still show through. If this is not a desirable effect, then it is necessary to color the surface to be flocked. The surface may be colored with acrylic stains or paints. You may use either the same color as the flock, or to get an interesting effect use a lighter, darker, or different color stain than the suede. You can darker color to highlight contours on your project. We suggest you experiment with different colors first to get the proper results you are trying to accomplish. When working with more than 1 flock color on the same piece, apply the darker color 1st and complete all steps for each color before applying the next color. Because the adhesive is water based, you can build the suede to give it a richer and more dense coverage. Let the 1st application dry and then just go back over it with adhesive and reapply flock. You can apply as many coats as you would like to achieve the density you want. Clear adhesive can be heat set so that you can apply flocking to fabric. We have over 30 of flocking available and you can blend your own colors to get the effect you want. Flocking can be applied to wood, ceramic, glass, leather, fabric, plastic, vinyl, and other porous surfaces. Great for lining jewelry boxes, bead boxes, dollhouses, miniatures, model cars, ceramics, woodwork, scrapbooks, picture frames, personalized cards, use on porcelain dolls, restoring old dolls such G.I.
