Lot of Antique Tatting Shuttles & Threads in Old Asian Basket Scroll down for more pictures; please be patient while they load. Here is a great lot found recently at a Chicago-area estate sale. The woven basket -- with a small damaged area on the top -- measures 4 3/8†square by 2†high. Although unlabeled, I believe this was made in Asia ( China or Japan ), as I have seen a similar basket with small dolls inside. The contents of the basket in this auction include three tatting shuttles for lacemaking: one labeled GER SILVER (the marking for German Silver ) with fancy engraved scrollwork on both sides (3 5/8" long), and two others that are Bakelite and/or celluloid. Two of the three have thread inside. The rest of the lot consists of assorted threads with labels reading FRANCE CORDONNET , TAT IT , TEXAZILK CORDONEY , KLOSTER , SILKINE and more. A few small bits of tatted lace are present.I have an excellent feedback rating, so bid with confidence. Because I am not the original owner of these items, I cannot be sure they have never smoked a cigarette, eaten peanut butter, or owned a pet. However, I detect no bad or smoky smells, and my nose is pretty sensitive. Please see my other auctions for more collectibles. I will combine shipping. Payment MUST be received in 8 days or Seller reserves the right to re-list/resell item. All sales are final unless item has been grossly misrepresented. In the rare instance when this occurs, buyer must notify seller within 5 days of receiving the item, otherwise the sale will be considered final. Please do not put in a bid unless you will be able to make or mail payment not later than Saturday, Oct. 18th. We encourage questions prior to bidding.METHODS OF PAYMENTWe currently accept Money Orders, Cashier Checks, PayPal (item shipped within three days), and Personal Checks (held for 5 business days prior to goods being shipped).
