Each design can be made in different colors and different yarn types for a different look, and with six patterns to choose from, you can easily have 20 or 30 little sweaters, each with a different personality!!The patterns were formerly in a set that incorporated both knit patterns and crochet patterns, but I found that a lot of my customers did not do both! Some used knit patterns only, and some used crochet patterns only, so I now have a set for the knitters and a set for the people who crochet only. The basketweave sweater is a classic style, sleeveless, and gives your little dog a comfortable fit and a warm neck to tail length. You can use this one pattern alone and get many different looks. You can use the basic instructions and change the stitch pattern, or you can shorten it and make it more of a jacket style. The Basic Dog Sweater can be made with or without sleeves, and has an easy version and an advanced version for the more experienced knitter. This pattern is for the sweater style that you see most often in the pet stores. It makes a very warm sweater for the winter months. I have included instructions for the advanced knitter on how to add the chest piece by knitting it into the back stitches, eliminating the need to come back and sew seams when all the pieces are done. You actually make the chest piece by knitting it into the back. There are close-up photos of a sweater in construction that explain how this is done. The Reversible Ripple design has a repeating pattern stitch that makes up into a beautiful and elegant looking sweater for your little dog. No matter which side of the sweater is worn to the outside, the pattern is the same, and looks great.All of the sweater styles can be adapted to larger or smaller dogs. The patterns go by your dog's measurements for a custom fit. You measure your dog, and then follow the pattern. It's that easy! And the patterns are all written in easy to understand language, not knitting shorthand terms. I also send you instructions on how to adapt the patterns to any size dog. The Short Sleeve sweater has raglan style sleeves, and is knit all in one piece using four needles. It is knit in the round, which makes it a little of an advanced pattern, but really isn't that hard to accomplish. Actually, I learned how to knit in the round using four needles before I learned how to use two needles. My Aunt Eileen was making socks and I asked her to show me how to do what she was doing. Nobody told me it was difficult, so I naturally assumed that it was easy! As I make sweaters for my little Chihuahua PC, I write out the pattern and offer it for sale on the Internet. You won't find these designs in any book. Your little dog can have "Designer" sweaters and you won't have to pay "Designer" prices! The Knit Cable sweater has the look of tiny cables, and is actually knit with simple knit and purl stitches and makes up really quick. The finished sweater looks elegant, and is nice and warm. I made a tummy strap for this sweater, but you could just as easily take the directions from the Basketweave pattern and make a chest piece for this sweater also. You will find as you learn the patterns one by one that you can take sections of one pattern and use them with another pattern and design your own little dog sweaters.
