This is our newest loom. We have been building inkle looms for nearly 8 years. We designed our original loom for inkle weavers & had great success amonst reenactors & SCA folk. With that success we also had people that saw ways to improve our loom. Our old looms were not very good for tabet weavers but they loved the warp length so they put up with it. Now, we have come back from the drawing board with this version. It features a new warping pattern that gives both Inkle & tablet weavers great versatility. The tension bar is in the center if the warp so the weaving area is never diminished when the warp tightens. It has 20 inches of tension adjustment while warping 170 inches. That's over 14 feet long...the length of most floor sized inkles. This loom is made of hard maple which will hold up toyeas & years of use. It is finshed with 3 coats of hand rubbed tung oil for a durable but pretty loom. We use no dyes or stains on our looms, they don't need it. We use only quality hardwoods.
