The Little Gracie II is a professional grade machine quilter made for quilters just starting out, or for people that have been machine quilting for years. The Gooseneck Lamp & Day Light Bulb are included with this listing. I really like the Gooseneck Lamp and Daylight bulb for several reasons. When you want to match thread to your quilt top, the full spectrum light is a real boon. When I am using a thread color that matches the quilt top, it can be very difficult to see where you have quilted. I turn off all the lights in the room and angle the lamp so that it casts a shadow across the quilt. That way I can make sure that my quilt doesn't end up looking goofy!The Little Gracie II carriage will accommodate "short arm" home sewing machines as well as machines up to 11 inches long. If your sewing machine has about six or more inches of throat area, (measure from the needle to the inside of the arm), then you should be in pretty good shape. Don't let someone tell you that you have to have a new sewing machine to quilt on this frame. There are a few dealers that are trying to sell various sewing machines with their frames, but unless you have the budget for it, there really isn't any reason that you can't use just about any home sewing machine.The Little Gracie has it's rails stacked to make it more convenient to load your quilt top or back. The top rail holds the quilt back, the next rail holds the quilt top, and the bottom rail is the optional batting rail. In this picture, you can see how the different layers get rolled up on the poles and how the batting gets layered in between them. If you have pets or small children that might think it is fun to tear up your batting, I would strongly suggest the 4th Pole Kit. The kit includes not only the rail, but wooden extensions that are necessary to hold the rail. It doesn't look like a "do it yourself" project will work very well in this case.
