The following information pertains to all five styles of Snap Dragon Rug Hoooking Frames: Functional: The Snap Dragon Frame will, with the "snap" of the paddles, keep your rug backing tight and hold it that way until you release the tension and remove the fabric. The self-locking lever system is simple and quick to operate, but gives you the leverage you need to achieve a tight hooking surface using only finger or hand strength. The 16 1/2" x 14" frame leaves and ample 13 1/2" x 11" working area which is angled toward you making it easy to see your work as you hook. It is comfortable to handle, very well balanced, and weighs only 5 lbs. For hookers that prefer to work from all sides of the frame, we also have a flat top model with an extra wide base that weighs about 5.75 lbs. Protective: This is a frame you can actually cuddle up to! Designed specifically as a lap frame, great care has been taken to round and smooth all surfaces that come in contact with the body. The gripper strips are recessed in their poplar tracks to reduce your exposure to the needles, without reducing their effectiveness at "gripping" the fabric ....AND.... the Snap Dragon Rug Hooking Frame is the ONLY frame on the market today with gripper rails designed to flip upside down for storage.
