Wonderful lacquer box from Mstera, Russia. Hand-made of papier-mache. Size is 3 x 2 3/8 x 1 1/4 inches. Very colourful and detailed artwork painted and signed by a professional artist from village Mstera. Egg Tempera. The outside of the box is painted traditional black with a golden pattern around the picture and the sides of the box, and the inside is red. High quality shiny lacquer finish and polish. Some white patches are an effect of reflected the light. The real box looks better than the picture attached.
