PeppersAttic * Dresden Plate Quilt Kit * P - Vintage 30's Dresden Plate Quilt Kit ~ Pointed Vintage Depression Era Prints! There is nothing more timeless than a Scrappy Dresden Plate Quilt and now you can make one quickly and easily with this kit using prints from my huge inventory of Reproduction Depression Era Prints! Your kit will contain precut blades for 12 Dresden Plates, along with a template for the center circle and complete step-by-step instructions. Though they look complicated, Dresden Plates are simple to make. If you have a zig-zag stitch or a blanket stitch on your machine, you can quickly applique the 12 plates you've completed to background squares of your choice. Or if you prefer, you can hand applique the plates. For these pointed Dresden Plates, the points are made in the sewing process so you don't have to turn the edges under by hand! The size of each plate, once assembled, will measure about 12" - and ideal size for sewing to background squares of your choice measuring 14" - 15". To give you an idea of sizing using 15" background squares, 3" sashings between the squares, an inner border of 2" and an outer border of 5", your completed quilt top will measure out at a generous 71" x 96". To make your top smaller, use smaller (or no) sashings and cut your borders smaller as well.
