This cocobolo rosewood (true dalbergia retusa) is from Nicaragua and is true rosewood. This world class cocobolo has been end sealed with anchorseal wax (an inert, emulsified bees wax that is organic and so safe you could eat it) so that the wood dries evenly so the wood will not have stresses, checking, and problems associated with high temperature kiln drying. [Beware of green wood that has moisture pockets inside and will change its size and dimensions.] This cocobolo is from Nicaragua and is highly figured with lots of oranges, reds, yellows, and very dark black stripes. Nicaragua cocobolo is much harder and highly figured than Mexican Cocobolo which sells for much less as it is softer and not as highly figured. This cocobolo comes from an extremely dry part of Nicaragua along the south eastern Pacific coast and is world class!
