This auction is for a complete rug hooking kit designed by Sharon Perry. It includes everything you need to complete this 12 X 18 inch Primitive Hooked Rug. Care has been taken in the packaging of this kit - it comes in a very sturdy zipper lock bag that's most convenient for taking it out and putting away at your leisure. It's a pretty simple design with a great mix of dyed and as is 100% wool strips - a mixture of brand new and washed and recycled wools stripped to a #8 size which is perfect for primitive rug hooking. The house is hooked with primitive oatmeal and trimmed with dyed yellow. The sky is done in shades of blue hooked at random and the trees and grass are hooked with primitive browns, greens, and plaids. The clothes on the line add some really great color to this piece. All in all I'm very happy with the way this turned out - colorful, yet still very primitive. I do offer a postage discount when more than one item is purchased. If this is your first project I would suggest a quilting hoop frame which can be purchased at any fabric store. There are more user friendly and costly frames available, but I did my first couple of rugs on a quilting hoop and then graduated to the more expensive frame. I haven't included a hook with this kit because I find that most people interested in this hobby already have one, but if you don't and are in need of one, I have solid maple Moshimer hooks available for $6.00 with any kit purchase.
