This auction is for a complete rug hooking kit hand drawn on a lovely hairless linen by Sharon Perry. It's my own design and includes everything you need to complete this 13 X 17 inch Primitive Hooked Rug. Care has been taken in the packaging of this kit - it comes in a very sturdy zipper lock bag that's most convenient for taking it out and putting away at your leisure. It's a pretty simple design with a great mix of dyed and as is 100% wools - all brand new and stripped to a #8 size which is perfect for primitive rug hooking. Hooked up this kit would make a great wall hanging, table centerpiece, or pillow top. The ginger bread cookies are hooked with my own dyed ginger-y browns. He has 3 blue buttons and she has 3 pink. The heart is done with a very deep primitive red and the background is hooked with a lovely dark charcoal gray. The border is done with many shades of color including a primitive plaid for the hearts and corners. There are many lovely dyed wools in this kit to give it a very old fashioned look and feel. I do offer a shipping discount if more than one item is purchased. If this is your first project I would suggest a quilting hoop frame which can be purchased at any fabric store. There are more user friendly and costly frames available, but I did my first couple of rugs on a quilting hoop and then graduated to the more expensive frame. I haven't included a hook with this kit because I find that most people interested in this hobby already have one, but if you don't and are in need of one, I have solid maple Moshimer hooks available for $6.00 with any kit purchase.
