Set machine to straight stitch - center needle position Place fabric under the presser foot so that the raw edge lines up with the right or the left outside edge of the foot. The seam allowance will be exactly ¼". Free Motion Foot Gives you the freedom to move your own fabric without your machine doing the feeding. A must for quilters. Allows you to sew in any direction instead of just forward & reverse. You can sew, left, right, you can sew square patches, round pathes, you can do all your mending & darning. You can even do free hand embroidery, the key is to just mark where you want so sew with tailor's chalk or a quilting pen then set your sewing machines stitch length to zero and adjust the width to whatever width of embroidery you would like to do then go fast with your machine and move the material very slow and you too will be able to do great free motion embroidery. With this attachment, you do not have to drop the feed dogs on your machine as when you set the stitch length to zero the feed teeth will just bounce up and down and will not move the material, you will do that. The bouncing of the feed teeth up and down assists you in being able to move the material easily. Raise the presser foot and the needle to the highest position. Loosen the set screw on the foot holder to remove it. Attach the free motion foot to the presser bar with the small pin connected to the foot resting on top of the needle set screw. * Set the stitch length to zero Walking Even Feed Foot For even feeding of fabrics.When you're sewing multiple fabric layers, you want them to move through the machine at the same rate. Teeth on the bottom of a walking foot firmly feed the top fabric precisely as feed dogs move the bottom layer. There's no more shifting! Great for quilting or matching plaids. Raise the presser foot and the needle to the highest position. Loosen the set screw on the foot holder to remove it. Attach the even feed foot to the presser bar with the lever on the needle clamp, and secure it with the set screw. * Operate the machine at low to medium speed.* Set the stitch length in the range of 0-4.
