This auction is for a complete rug hooking kit hand drawn on a lovely cotton monks cloth by Sharon Perry. This kit includes everything you need to complete this 14 1/2 inch round Primitive Hooked Rug. It's a pretty simple design with lots of great primitive colors - a great kit for the beginner or seasoned rug hooker. The posies vase is hooked with a lovely mustard and oatmeal and the posies with a mixture of lovely shades of color. The background is hooked with a very primitive overdyed black/charcoal plaid. For a finishing touch I added random curlies around the edge in a great shade of deep purple. This finished piece would make a great wall hanging, pillow top, table centerpiece, or chair pad (that's where it is in my house). If this is your first project I would suggest a quilting hoop frame which can be purchased at any fabric store. There are more user friendly and costly frames available, but I did my first couple of rugs on a quilting hoop and then graduated to the more expensive frame. Should you need a hooking tool, I have solid maple Moshimer hooks for $6.00 with any kit purchase.
