This is NOT an Indian artifact,NOR INTENDED TO REPRESENT ONE.Up for sale is an OKAY-DOKIE spindle this a supported spindle,sometimes called a floor spindle,or Navajo style spindle.This spindle comes with a base ,spindle length is aprox 36 ", the whorl is aporx 5" in diameter, the base is aporx 12" x 6" x 2".The best feature about these is the base; the base is heavy enough to keep the spindle put while spinning. Each base has two holes, one at an angle, for spinning, and one to hold it upright. This is a wonderful storage position.The spindle shaft will be made of hard or soft wood depending on availability. Like our wool pickers, the whirls and base are made of yellow pine. This spindle is hand finished with a walnut stain.Items will be shipped by U.S. mail, additional charges to AK ,HI may apply.
